Welcome to your July update. As the summer season fills your calendars and front desks, this month focuses on making busy days smoother: cleaner billing, sharper reports, and a few thoughtful touches for guest registration and compliance. Here is what is new across HotelSync.
New Booking Engine Design
Upgraded features and a refreshed UI/UX for a maximized conversion rate on both desktop and mobile web. If you have not enabled the Booking Engine yet, it is fully included in your subscription: please contact our support or check these articles: https://helpdesk.hotelsync.com/en/collections/3400232-booking-engine
Calendar
-
Real occupancy on the calendar The calendar now shows true occupancy rather than online availability, both per room and overall, so you get an accurate picture of how full you are.
-
Turnover markers restored The asterisk that flags turnover days is back on the Dashboard, making same-day departures and arrivals easy to spot at a glance.
-
Overbooking protection You can now restrict user permissions to prevent overbooking, including when moving one room over another on the calendar.
Yield and revenue management
-
Yield calendar follows your layout The yield rooms calendar now follows the same room type order as your compact calendar, so both views stay consistent.
-
Clearer prices and restrictions Zero availability is now highlighted in red so it stands out immediately, and the price and restriction fields accept text style input while still limiting entries to numbers.
-
Smarter default rate setup When you create a new rate plan, the key fields now come pre-filled, saving you setup time.
-
Maximum booking offset You can now set a maximum booking offset period, giving you control over how far in advance guests can book, alongside the existing minimum.
Reservations and front desk
-
Split the bill per guest When a reservation has more than one guest, you can now create a separate invoice for each guest directly from the reservation using a dedicated billing option.
-
OTA reference number in search Channel OTA reference numbers are now saved to the reservation and included when you search reservations and invoices, making bookings easier to find.
-
Consistent transfer icons Transfer icons now match the ones shown on invoices for a more consistent experience across the app.
Payments, advances and invoicing
-
Payment method at a glance The payments view now shows the payment method, so you can see how each transaction was settled without extra clicks.
-
Cleaner invoice printing Invoice and proforma prints now hide the remaining amount, total discount, and amount to pay when they are zero, and the totals without tax and tax are shown as part of the VAT summary.
-
Quick link to invoices This button now takes you straight to the list of invoices, saving you a step.
Reporting and analytics
-
Reservation type on Payments report The Payments report in the Revenue section now includes a column and filter for reservation type, giving you a clearer breakdown of income.
-
Room forecast in automatic reports You can now schedule the Room forecast as part of your automatic reports so it arrives without manual effort.
-
Property expenses in PM reports When a user has all accommodation units selected, per property expenses now appear in their property management reports.
-
Expenses module improvements The expenses module now includes several refinements, and per unit expense details, including the selected unit, are carried through more clearly.
-
Full report names on hover Long report category names now show in full on hover, so nothing gets cut off.
-
Guest section date filters The Guest section now offers the same predefined date filters you already use in reports, making it faster to narrow down results.
-
Housekeeping report printing You can now print the lower table of the Housekeeping report separately, with the existing print now covering only the upper table.
Fiscalization and tax compliance
-
eVisitor statistics reporting A new report in the Guest section lets you send occupancy statistics to eVisitor, with a monthly filter (defaulting to last month) covering occupied rooms and total days.
-
eTourist prefill for foreign guests When you mark a guest as foreign, the entry date into Serbia now matches the room arrival date, the stay validity is set three months ahead, and the border crossing defaults to unknown.
-
Fiscalized invoices report options The fiscalized invoices report gains a Show dates slider that adds arrival and departure dates in a new column, plus an optional adults and children column pulled from the room, both included on the printout.
-
Croatian fiscalization cleanup When an invoice is saved as an eInvoice, only the eInvoice button remains, and likewise only the fiscal button remains for fiscalization, reducing clutter.
-
Tax report multiselect and City Tax period The Tax report document type filter now supports selecting multiple types, and the City Tax report printout now shows the period it covers.
-
QR code placement on prints The barcode and QR code now sit above the footer, and a QR code is included when printing from the invoice list.
Guest registration and experience
-
Duplicate ID detection and merge You can now enable a setting to catch guests entered with an existing document number (matching country and document type) and choose to merge them with the existing guest instead of creating a duplicate.
-
Translated default extras and setups Default extra services such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner now translate with your chosen language, and new properties are set up with translations for non-Balkan languages too.
-
Guest app wording refinements The guest app settings now read Booking sources for clarity, and a helpful hover has been moved onto the guest registration area.
Booking Engine
-
Accurate percentage discounts Percentage discounts from the Booking Engine now carry through as percentage discounts in the reservation, and Promotions now let you choose exactly what each discount applies to. Existing discounts default to applying to everything so nothing changes unexpectedly.
Logs and audit trail
-
More detail in activity logs The log now records room status changes triggered by a reservation, not just manual edits, and guest inserts in the timeline show which guest was added.
Multiproperty, reseller and admin
-
Channel access now enforced When you give a sub user visibility into only certain sales channels, that user no longer sees reservations from other channels, keeping access tightly scoped.
-
User search You can now search within the Users section to find team members quickly.
-
Clearer housekeeping role name The Supervisor role has been renamed Housekeeping supervisor for a clearer description of its purpose.
Developer and API
-
Reservation status on insert The engine insert reservation call now supports a reservation status of confirmed (default), pending, or offer, so you can create bookings in the right state.
-
Promo codes in getRooms The getRooms request now accepts a promo code parameter and returns discounted prices when the code is valid.
-
Guest reviews from OTA Channels: You can now pull in OTA guest reviews directly to HotelSync and display them on your Booking Engine, and reply to them directly inside HotelSync.
Coming next
Here is a look at the direction we are heading. This is direction, not commitment.
- German POS support is on the way, bringing point of sale coverage for the German market.
- We are expanding inventory permissions to include a Full Access option for finer control over who can do what.
- The Debit report will gain a filter for reservation and room status so you can narrow results more precisely.
- We are exploring a children category in room settings, along the lines of how Special Offers work today.
- More work is coming to the Housekeeping report and to mobile app tasks.
- We plan to relocate the company address display to a more fitting spot.
